Real Food: Reduce Processed Foods & Cut the Snacking
The Big Idea
Structured, whole-food meals work with your GLP-1 instead of against it.
Why It Matters
Reducing processed foods and eliminating snacking improves insulin sensitivity, reduces blood sugar swings, and reinforces the satiety signals your GLP-1 is already sending. Highly processed foods are oHen engineered to be easy to overeat even at small volumes, which works directly against the appetite control the medication is providing.
Structured meals also make it far easier to hit your protein target (Module 5) and stay adequately fed (Module 6), because you're making deliberate food choices at set times rather than grazing reactively.
A useful rule of thumb: if you have to prepare it, it's probably a reasonable snack; if it comes ready-to-eat out of a package, it's probably not helping.
What This Means for You
● Focus on whole, minimally processed foods as the base of every meal.
● Eliminate snacking where possible, and let structured meals do the work instead.
● When you do need something between meals, favor something you prepare (a hard-boiled egg, plain yogurt) over something that comes pre-packaged.
Common Pitfalls
● "Healthy" processed snacks (protein bars, flavored yogurts) that are still highly processed and easy to overeat relative to their nutrition.
● Grazing throughout the day instead of eating structured meals, which makes it harder to track whether you're actually hitting protein and calorie targets.
